Raymond is our gentleman Ambassador. He has a charm and friendliness, which draws people to him, so much so that he gives up most of his weekends with casual groups of photographers showing them his techniques and favourite locations.
“I love the the North West coast, the light changes so much and makes every day unique. It can be a challenge, getting to know the the tides and seas, which has a personality of its own, to get the right mood and of course for safety.”
A self taught photographer, Ray was once a semi-pro goal keeper and played at Wembley Stadium. From Wallasey on the Wirral near Liverpool, Ray has become well known for his stunning images of marooned boats on Meols beach at low tide. He knows every single one of them by name. A huge advocate of NiSi filters, Ray discovered NiSi after using Lee for many years, and he is always willing to help and advise others.
Ray has over the last two years built up a reputation and following for his style of photography and his enthusiasm.
“They say your first 10,000 images are your worst. I think I’ve just about got past that now. With the help of Nisi. Having the best quality glass is important to me, I shoot long exposures often and not having colour cast and dark corners really is a huge benefit”.
Ray runs a Facebook Group “Mysterious World of ND Filters” to help and inspire others. Check it out. He also jointly runs “Nisi Filters (Beyond Imagination)” with Phil Norton to help and inspire others, and run group meets for fun.
To learn more about Ray follow his social links and join one of the groups, he is always willing to help and show you how he gets his incredible images.
