Tom is a self taught semi-professional photographer based on the edge of the Dorset Jurassic Coast. Tom has been around cameras from an early age and started out with a Pentax Spotmatic when he was a teenager. A techie at heart he really embraced digital cameras even when their quality was slightly questionable, starting out with a 2.1 MP Kodak beauty. After a string of bridge cameras and entry level DSLRs he took a break from photography while he started a family.
Returning to photography two years ago he went straight for a mirrorless camera wanting to be able to carry it with him as much as possible, even when out on his bike. He has spent as much time as possible exploring the Jurassic coast, The New Forest and Devon.
“I know my area of the UK well after exploring so much of it on my bike, and I love it with a passion. Now I try to convey my feelings for it thorough my photography. There’s still so much more to explore and I love visiting new places.”
After a brief experiment with cheap filters he quickly switched to the original NISI M1 system for his Olympus cameras and has never looked back. He now uses the M75 system to take advantage of the new features introduced in line with the larger V6 100mm system and the expanded range of filters.
Tom has built a loyal social media following, especially on Instagram and is just starting to organise meets and workshops. He can often be found getting drenched somewhere on the Jurassic coast at sunrise or sunset.
“I’m really looking forward to organising some Nisi Meet-ups and showcasing the quality and versatility of the Nisi systems. I do love the weight (and cost) benefits of the smaller M75 mirrorless system.”
