A full day Workshop taking in some stunning locations in Wales, with two of our Ambassadors, Phil Norton and Ray McBride.

The day will start at the iconic Penmon Point on Anglesey at dawn. Here we will shoot the stunning lighthouse standing in the sea and Puffin Island in the background with the side light of dawn, experimenting with different shutter speeds using ND filters for differs effects. There will also be an opportunity to shoot the Keeper’s Cottages against the back drop of the Snowdonia mountains on the mainland.

Penmon Point Anglesey

From Anglesey we will travel to the mainland and enter Snowdonia. A number of locations will be visited and the order will be determined by the light. We will visit the Ogwen Valley with its many photo opportunities including the lake of Llyn Ogwen, Ogwen Waterfall, the wooden bridge leading up to Cwm Idwal and Idwal Waterfall.

We will also shoot at the spectacular and mysterious Fairy Glen. This beautiful location offers shots of the light spilling through the opening and the water passing through. Incredible images can be created using slow shutter speeds and various filters including polarisers. This is a magical place that creates images of wonder. Access is via a short walk and steep steps and is only suitable for the able bodied of average fitness.

We will aim to finish at an appropriate location to shoot sunset and the twilight hour.

Please note Wellingtons will be required along with suitable clothing for cold weather and the possibility of rain. Snowdonia tends to create it’s own weather. You should have a tripod and shutter release cable along with plenty of spare memory and spare batteries. Fluids are essential, please bring a bottle of water. We will have a short break for lunch of around 30 minutes.

Your Ambassadors will have Nisi Filters available to demo and they will assist to help you capture the best images possible in camera, along with expert tuition on composition and camera settings and technique.

To assist any purchases of Nisi filters your ambassadors will have a discount code for you which will be for the exclusive use of workshop attendees.

This will be a long and intense day but will also be a fund day we are sure you will remember.
