David is our Mr Early Riser, always being out early no matter what the season. He first started in the world of photography at 15 when he had a Pentax Spotmatic 500, launching him into the world of SLR photography. He has since owned many cameras and admits to be a bit of a collector; both film and digital and currently loves the iconic feel and looks of the Fuji X and Nikon Mirrorless systems.

After a career in teaching where he was able to teach some Photography he is now happily settled in South Somerset, bordering on the beautiful and stunning County of Dorset, with it’s mystical light and low lying mists. A lot of his time is spent pursuing new locations going out early morning throughout the changing seasons, and he is a big inspiration to others to do the same with his website and Social Media feeds.

“For the past 3 years NSI filters have helped me immensely in my work to control and balance the changing and sometimes challenging lighting conditions in the field. The V5/V6 system has now evolved into a highly professional and flexible tool for the Landscape Photographer. I am a big fan of Medium Grads combined with a Circular Landscape Polariser. The digital darkroom process is also important to me but I always try and perfect the image at the time of capture”.

In contrast to photographing the Southern Counties David has a passion for the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands, especially in the Winter months. David has had many images published in the National press, including the Times, and featured in Photography magazines. He has also written articles on using the Fujifilm X system for Landscape work both in print and electronic format.

“Photography to me is a way of life and I have had a real passion for creating images since a young age. Having the opportunity to further share my expertise and enthusiasm, through with the use of NISI filters gives me great pleasure. I really look forward to working with some highly respected UK Photographers and those wishing to further develop their Photography skills”.
